EAST GREENWICH, LONDON
Small-scale flexible minimalism
An open space living room was planned for a young couple for their 70m2 newly-built apartment. They required a flexible kitchen, living and dining area. They love cooking, watching cooking shows on television to learn new recipes, and collecting cook books. Maximising the available space with hidden but clever storage solution was key.
As the owners of the flat entertain quite frequently, the dining area needed to be expandable to make everyone feel comfortable. Open shelving in the kitchen makes cooking easy, still having a light visual overview in the corner. Cooking hob is facing the television to comfortably learn from cooking shows. Indoor-grown herbs are hanging from the wall near the dining table, serving both decorative and functional purposes.
