Remote Design: Soulless New Build To Textural Haven
Location:

Who said a new-built living room has to be boring? Introducing warm neutral walls, some pops of colour, natural textures, characteristic shapes & prints, you can jazz up a stark white & soulless box in no time! In this project we attempted breathing a little more life & warmth into an otherwise soulless white new-built box room.
Some tricks we used in this space to make it more flexible & inviting for a family of 5:
Adding a pouffe/footstool is a great and flexible way to add comfort and extra seating in a small living room. Use lightweight pieces to be able to quickly free up more floorspace for playtime on the rug.
Side stool-tables:
great for putting drinks on, placing a table lamp on it, or can even be used as an extra seat when playing board games.
Baskets on the bottom of open shelving are my go-to tip for a busy family with small children: toys are lying around everywhere after a happy day full of play-time, but can be a pain when a random guest pops in. Tidying up is made easy with accessible baskets, where you can always keep favourite toys, throws or magazines nearby but hidden from sight.
We also went for some plants
that thrive in low-light conditions and are child & pet friendly, such as the kentia palm!
